NNPC, SEEPCO sign gas deal on OML 143

The Group Managing Director, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Mallam Mele Kyari, and Chairman of Sterling Exploration and Energy Production Company, (SEEPCO), Mr. Tony Chukwueke, on Thursday signed a Gas Development Agreement (GDA) on Oil Mining Lease (OML) 143.

According to series of tweets  on the NNPC handle, the latest milestone provides the terms for the development of OML 143 Gas, providing gas for the domestic market which aligns perfectly with the Federal Government’s National Gas Expansion Programme (NGEP).

Last year, the two partners also signed off an agreement geared towards  monetisation of gas from OML 143, tucked in the deep forests of the Niger Delta, could also help reduce gas flaring in the country, NNPC added.
