NAPTIN, APUA train electricity workers across Africa 

The National Power Training Institute of Nigeria(NAPTIN), a Centre of Excellence/ Member of  African Network of Centres of Excellence in Electricity(ANCEE) under APUA organised  a four day workshop for trainees drawn from African Countries. 

The four days training was declared opened by the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Power, represented by the Director, Human Resources, Mrs. Victoria Adeosun, at Sandralia Hotel Abuja.

Adeosun commended APUA for its initiative of African Network of Centres of Excellence in Electricity(ANCEE) and the giant strides made under the project in building human capacity of staff of Power Utilities in Africa. 

The Director also appreciated NAPTIN’s efforts in carrying out its mandate of providing and coordinate training activities in the Nigerian Power Sector.

“As a joint host of the workshop. I appreciate NAPTIN’s management efforts in keeping with the mandate as established by the Federal Government of Nigeria on 23rd of March 2009. You are doing very well and wish you more wins”, she started

Director General, NAPTIN, Mr.Ahmed Bolaji Nagode, said: “I wish to commend the efforts of APUA under the leadership of the Director General Engr. Abel Tella for deeming NAPTIN and the City of Abuja fit as host for this event. We are proud of our working relationship with APUA through our sister agency, the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN). 

NAPTIN’s recognition as a Centre of Excellence(CoE) under APUA project of African Network of Centres of Excellence in Electricity (ANCEE) in 2017, have successfully participated in training Staff of Power Utilities in Africa, namely TCN, Distribution Companies,  of Nigeria, VRA Ghana, Malawi, Estwatini and others.”

The training workshop was with the theme: Training Engineering Post Training Evaluation, dwelt on the theories and models of post training evaluation and how to make the best choice of the right model in post training evaluation of training and capacity building.
