Huawei to push up Nigeria’s oil output by 5 per cent

Huawei Technologies Company has said that is ready to help Nigeria raises its crude oil output by about 5 per cent, translating to an increase in revenue of $200 million in a year, using Huawei’s Oil & Gas solutions.

Enterprise Managing Director of Huawei Technologies Company Nigeria Limited, Michael Zhuang, who disclosed this in Abuja at the fourth Nigeria International Petroleum Summit (NIPS), said Huawei’s Oil & Gas solutions have been applied in 45 countries and regions around the world, serving 70% of global top 20 oil and gas companies and incorporated to build more than 46,000 KM of Digital Pipelines Globally.

Zhuang said Huawei plans to contribute to the Nigeria’s oil and gas industry by promoting national Oilfield Data Supervision; curb vandalism and Oil leakage for Oil Pipelines by providing innovative solutions which can monitor illegal operations in Oil Depot, thereby significantly reducing oil tampering, reduce costs and increase efficiency, promote HSE by reducing accidents for a safer and more secure Oilfield, reduce O&M each year to 15 million in total.

Speaking on some projects Huawei has handled in the Oil and Gas Industry in Nigeria, Zhuang said: “We have installed our Oilfield Monitoring Solution for AGIP. With this Integrated Oilfield IoT solution by Huawei, it is now possible to visualize and monitor real time production and reduce the vandalism on well sites. We have delivered AKK Pipeline Camp with Huawei IVS monitoring and campus network/office solution to improve camp safety monitoring and office experience. We have also delivered our Monitoring Solution for NNPC retail to enable more safety and secure management at its HQ office and Mega Petrol Stations.

Zhuang noted that Huawei have delivered a Green Modular Data Center Solution for IDSL to reduce the data center O&M cost and improve use efficiency.

“The Huawei Fusion Cube Solution in DPR for regional branches helps to reduce the IT O&M cost and enhance Unified Monitoring and Management”.

Other benefits of Huawei’s solutions Zhuang stated include achieve visualization, monitoring, security management of pipeline and full process of oil depot; improve exploration and production processing speed from the average hour level to the minute level, improve E&P processing accuracy, that is, E&P Data processing error rate will be reduced from an average of 10% to 2% as well as help E&P companies to find oil more accurately and faster to realize Data to Barrel.
