Five bodies recovered, 3 rescue alive from Abesan, Lagos gas explosion

Five dead bodies have so far recovered from early morning gas explosion at Candos Road, Baruwa Inside, Lagos state.
Three person were also rescued alive.
According to eyewitness account, at about about 20 minutes to 6am on Thursday, a LPG or cooking gas tanker was in the process of discharging at the Best Roof Plant Station and the Station Generator was on and from where it was reported that explosion erupted.
The explosion, the witness said, threw the discharging tanker across the road.
“There are casualties, five bodies have been recovered but search and recovery will be carried out after the emergency phase. Many buildings have been destroyed
The Best Roof Gas Plant Station is located in densely populated community.
A source revealed that the gas plant has about 30 metric tons of gas in the underground tank before the incident.
” They were dispensing gas to consumer, at the same time loading a LPG tank while generator was on and possibly there was a leak that ignite the fire” the source said

similar incident occurred two weeks ago at Ishaga, Lagos, though no life was lost.
