Digital transformation: Huawei launches IP Club in Nigeria to boost product knowledge

To help its Nigerian customers and partners to quickly acquire new knowledge and master new technologies in the rapidly changing IP technology field, Huawei Technologies has established its global IP Club carnival in Nigeria. 

At the maiden event which held in the Oriental Hotel, Lagos, Li Wei, Director of Marketing & Solution Sales Department, Huawei Nigeria said: “Technology is changing every day. Today we are experts in a certain field, but tomorrow we may be greener hands in another field. Technology is the cornerstone of our career path. Fast technology development means that our career is full of uncertainties. With this in mind, Huawei constantly thinks about how to help our customers and partners to quickly acquire new knowledge and master new technologies in the rapidly changing IP technology field. Doing so helps to survive despite fast-paced technology development. 

“This is why we launched our IP Club globally in 2018. Joining IP Club brings a lot of benefits. We can discuss with like-minded technology fans about the latest technologies, learn from others’ ideas, and share our opinions and insights with people in need. We can learn together, make progress together, and respond to opportunities and challenges brought by the digital transformation era to practitioners like us together.”

Since it began in 2018, the IP Club Carnival has held over 200 times in several countries with more than 30,000 engineers in attendance.

Partners in attendance at the Nigerian maiden event included BBT, Tenece,  TD Africa, Redington, Systemtech, Manifold, and Cyberspace. They were joined by a host of customers which included the Central Bank of Nigeria, Lagos state government, Galaxy Backbone, Zenith Bank, Access Bank, First Bank, UBA, GT Bank, Fidelity Bank, FCMB, Unity Bank, Transmission Company of Nigeria and NNPC Ltd.

Speaking at the event, Lagos State commissioner for Science and Technology, Mr Hakeem Popoola said that the state government is leveraging on the use of smart technologies and data analysis to optimize city activities and boost the nation’s economy. 

He noted that the state is deploring initiatives such as infrastructural development powered by technological innovations, use of CCTV around the state for safer city, multi modal transportation.

Popoola said what is happening in the state is as a result of implementation of Huawei’s smart technology solutions, adding that the economic agenda of the state is to make Lagos an Africa’s model mega city, global economic and financial hub.

The objective of the event is to expose attendees to the IP Network development trends and innovative technologies from Huawei that can drive effective digital transformation in customer environment and bring value to network evolution

Some of the highlights of the events were the introduction of the leading new Intelligent IP Network Huawei Next-Gen CloudCampus Solution Wi-Fi 6; Huawei’s SD-WAN Building, an Intelligent and On-demand Branch Interconnection; and the Huawei Fast Track Program.

“In this event, participants have the opportunity to connect with thought leaders to explore technical development trends of Intelligent Cloud-Networks, dive deep into Huawei Datacom’s latest progress in deterministic experiences, and discover industry best practices. Industry leaders will share success stories on how they have solved their network challenges and achieved success in Intelligent. Understanding the application of digital transformation in today’s ever-changing business scenario would help the customers achieve network evolution,” Wei said.
